Food Safari Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of the Food Safari website, mobile applications, and related services. They are formatted for straightforward publication on the Food Safari website.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Food Safari. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Food Safari website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Safety Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. What Food Safari Is
Food Safari is a technology platform that helps adults discover, host, request to join, and participate in real-life dinners and food experiences.
Food Safari is not:
- A restaurant, caterer, food-delivery service, chef service, or food-safety inspector
- A payment processor unless a future feature expressly states otherwise
- A travel agency, dating service, employment agency, or emergency service
- The host, organizer, venue operator, or food provider for every dinner listed through the Services
Hosts and guests act independently and are not employees, agents, partners, representatives, or contractors of Food Safari. Food Safari does not direct or control how hosts prepare food, select venues, conduct dinners, or interact with guests.
3. Eligibility and Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms to use Food Safari.
By using Food Safari, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- The information you provide is accurate and not misleading
- You will comply with these Terms and applicable laws
- You are not prohibited from using the Services under applicable law
We may restrict or remove an account if we reasonably believe the user is under 18, has misrepresented their age or identity, or is otherwise ineligible.
4. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate, protecting your login credentials, and all activity occurring through your account.
You may not create fake, misleading, duplicate, or impersonation accounts, share your account with another person, or attempt to evade a restriction through a new account.
Notify Food Safari promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Verification and Background Checks
Unless Food Safari expressly states otherwise for a particular feature, Food Safari does not conduct criminal-background checks, inspect users’ homes, verify professional qualifications, or independently confirm every user’s identity, statements, food practices, affiliation, or dinner details.
Phone, email, or other technical verification confirms only the verified element and is not a guarantee of a user’s identity, character, intentions, safety, or reliability.
6. Dinner Formats and Companion Requirements
Some Food Safari dinner formats require hosts and guests to participate with a companion, while other formats may allow individuals to join. The applicable requirement will be displayed in the dinner details. Users must comply with the participation format shown for that dinner.
A user who identifies or brings a companion must have that person’s permission, provide accurate information, and ensure the companion understands the relevant dinner rules. Unless Food Safari expressly allows otherwise, an unapproved companion may not attend.
Food Safari may require companions to create their own accounts or separately accept applicable terms before participating in certain formats.
7. Host Responsibilities
If you create or host a dinner, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, complete, and current dinner information
- Clearly describing the format, topic, language, location type, accessibility information, companion requirement, payment preference, and expectations
- Disclosing known information about alcohol, pets, smoking, major allergens, and relevant house rules
- Using a location you are legally permitted to use
- Updating or cancelling the dinner promptly if material plans change
- Protecting guest privacy and restricted dinner information
- Creating a respectful and reasonably safe environment
- Complying with applicable restaurant, building, lease, condominium, homeowners’ association, occupancy, fire-safety, and accessibility requirements
- Complying with local food-service, home-business, supper-club, alcohol, licensing, permit, tax, and reporting requirements
Food Safari does not authorize conduct that would otherwise be unlawful and does not confirm that a host has obtained all permits, permissions, licences, or insurance that may be required.
8. Guest Responsibilities
If you request to join or attend a dinner, you are responsible for:
- Reviewing all available dinner information before joining
- Checking menus, prices, ingredients, allergens, accessibility, transport, and suitability for your needs
- Following the companion requirement shown for the dinner
- Arriving on time and cancelling as early as reasonably possible if you cannot attend
- Not bringing unapproved people
- Respecting the host, other guests, venue, property, staff, and dinner rules
- Protecting private addresses, access codes, times, and other restricted details
- Leaving and contacting emergency services if you feel unsafe or face immediate danger
9. Dinner Details, Approval, and Restricted Information
Some dinner information is visible only after the host approves a guest.
For home dinners, the exact address and exact time are visible only to approved guests. For restaurant dinners, the exact time is visible only to approved guests. Food Safari may apply the same restricted-detail model to other dinner formats.
Approval does not guarantee admission if the user no longer satisfies the dinner requirements, violates these Terms, or creates a safety concern.
You may not publish, forward, resell, or distribute private dinner links, access codes, home addresses, exact times, guest information, or instructions without authorization. Food Safari may deactivate or replace compromised links or codes.
10. Messaging and Contact Information
Users should use Food Safari messaging whenever necessary.
Hosts can use the messaging feature to contact guests before and after a dinner. Guests can use the messaging feature to contact other guests only after they have attended a dinner together. The availability of messaging features may depend on approval, attendance, account status, and product functionality.
No user may pressure another person to provide a phone number, email address, social-media account, home address, financial information, or other personal information. Users may voluntarily exchange contact details when they are comfortable doing so.
Attempting to evade a block or communication restriction through another account, companion, dinner, or off-platform channel is prohibited.
11. Changes, Cancellations, No-Shows, and Removal
Hosts should promptly notify approved guests of cancellations or material changes to the time, location, contribution, format, or participation requirements.
Guests should cancel as early as reasonably possible. Hosts may remove an approved guest for a legitimate operational, policy, or safety reason, but may not do so for an unlawfully discriminatory or retaliatory reason.
Food Safari may consider repeated verified no-shows, late cancellations, policy violations, substantiated reports, and relevant account history when determining appropriate enforcement action. A single negative review does not automatically result in an account restriction.
Where appropriate, Food Safari may provide notice and an opportunity to request review of a significant account restriction. Food Safari may act immediately and without advance notice when reasonably necessary to address fraud, safety, legal, or security risks.
12. Payments, Contributions, and Restaurant Bills
Food Safari does not currently process payments, hold funds, split bills, issue refunds, or guarantee payments.
If a host suggests a meal contribution for a home dinner, or selects a payment preference for a restaurant dinner, the arrangement is directly between the participants and any relevant venue.
Users are responsible for reviewing disclosed costs, menu prices, taxes, service charges, tips, and other expenses. Food Safari is not responsible for unpaid bills, contribution disputes, food value, portion size, menu availability, or private reimbursement arrangements.
Users may not use dinners to obtain undisclosed payments, conduct scams, request unrelated loans or investments, or pressure another person into a financial transaction.
13. Food, Allergies, and Dietary Restrictions
Food Safari does not verify ingredients, menus, kitchens, food-preparation practices, cross-contamination risks, allergen claims, or the suitability of any meal.
Guests are responsible for asking relevant questions, checking restaurant information directly, carrying necessary medication, and deciding whether it is safe or appropriate to attend or consume food.
Hosts must not knowingly misrepresent food, ingredients, allergens, pets, smoking, alcohol, or preparation conditions.
14. Alcohol and Other Substances
- Hosts must not provide or serve alcohol unlawfully
- Users must satisfy the legal drinking age applicable to the dinner location
- No user may pressure another person to drink
- Users must not drive or operate transportation while impaired
- Illegal drug activity and unsafe substance use are prohibited
Food Safari does not sell, serve, control, inspect, or verify alcohol unless a future feature expressly states otherwise.
15. User Content
You may submit profile information, photographs, dinner descriptions, messages, reviews, reports, and other content. You remain responsible for your content and must have the rights and permissions required to submit it.
You may not submit content that is false, illegal, abusive, exploitative, discriminatory, sexually explicit, privacy-invasive, infringing, fraudulent, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by our Community Guidelines.
You grant Food Safari a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and process your content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Services.
Food Safari will not use an identifiable user’s private profile content, name, image, voice, or testimonial in external advertising without permission, except where the content was expressly submitted for promotional use.
Food Safari may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms, our policies, applicable law, or the rights or safety of others.
16. Reviews
Reviews must be based on genuine interactions and must be honest, relevant, respectful, and free from private information.
Reviews may not be used for retaliation, blackmail, threats, discrimination, harassment, or knowingly false claims. Food Safari may remove, limit, or investigate reviews that violate our policies.
17. Prohibited Conduct
You must comply with the Community Guidelines. Without limiting those Guidelines, you may not:
- Engage in illegal, fraudulent, abusive, discriminatory, exploitative, threatening, or unsafe conduct
- Harass, stalk, intimidate, sexually solicit, or pressure another person
- Share private information, private messages, restricted dinner details, or unauthorized images
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent a dinner, identity, affiliation, contribution, or purpose
- Promote scams, pyramid schemes, unrelated recruitment, investments, loans, commercial sexual services, or unauthorized sales
- Bring or misuse weapons, engage in violence, or make credible threats
- Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, interfere with, attack, or bypass security controls of the Services
- Evade a suspension, block, age restriction, or moderation action
18. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation
Food Safari provides or intends to provide tools to report users, profiles, dinners, messages, reviews, photographs, and real-world conduct, and to block abusive users.
Reports must be made honestly and may not be used to harass or retaliate. Food Safari may review relevant account information, dinner activity, messages, content, reports, and available evidence.
Food Safari may use automated tools and human review to filter, detect, investigate, restrict, or remove objectionable content or conduct. No moderation system can identify or prevent every violation.
Food Safari may warn, limit visibility, remove content or dinners, restrict features, suspend accounts, permanently remove accounts, preserve evidence, or report serious matters when legally required or reasonably necessary for safety.

19. Real-World Meetings and Assumption of Risk
Meeting people and consuming food in real life involves risks. Food Safari cannot guarantee the identity, behavior, intentions, competence, health, property, venue, food, drinks, transportation, or safety of any user or dinner.
To the extent permitted by law, users assume responsibility for their decisions to host, join, travel to, attend, remain at, eat or drink at, and leave a dinner.
Food Safari is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services first if you face immediate danger.
20. Intellectual Property
Food Safari and its licensors own the Services, software, databases, interface, design, brand names, logos, and original content, excluding user content.
Subject to these Terms, Food Safari grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for their intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
21. Third-Party Services
The Services may use or link to third-party services, including maps, authentication, hosting, communications, analytics, moderation, and external venue services.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Food Safari is not responsible for third-party content, availability, pricing, actions, security, or policies.
22. Account Restriction, Suspension, and Termination
Food Safari may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account or dinner when we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms or our policies, created a safety or legal risk, abused the Services, or interfered with another user’s experience.
Severe conduct may result in immediate and permanent removal. Users may not create another account to evade an enforcement decision.
Where required by law or appropriate under the circumstances, we may provide a reason and a method to request review. We may withhold information where disclosure could compromise another person’s privacy, safety, an investigation, or legal obligations.
23. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request account deletion through profile settings in the App or by emailing mihai@joinfoodsafari.app from the email address associated with the account.
Deleting the App does not delete the account. Account deletion is governed by the Privacy Policy, including disclosed circumstances in which limited information may be retained for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or security purposes.
24. Platform Availability and Changes
The Services are provided on an evolving basis. Food Safari may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, content, or availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or universally available service.
25. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of safety, accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Food Safari and its founder, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages.
Food Safari is not responsible for user conduct, dinner outcomes, food quality, allergens, illness, injury, property damage, theft, cancellations, transportation, venue conditions, alcohol consumption, payment disputes, or other real-world interactions arranged through the Services, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
27. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Food Safari and its founder, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from your content, hosting, attendance, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of another person’s rights.
28. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we may provide notice by email, in-app message, website notice, or another reasonable method. The updated Terms will state their effective date.
Where applicable law requires affirmative consent to a change, continued use alone will not replace that consent.
